The Wardens do not fight the instability of the Scape's Gate regions — they manage it. The difference matters. The goal is not victory over chaos; it is the controlled envelope that lets everything else function.
Methodical, experienced, and possessed of a specific kind of calm that comes from working near things most people don't approach. The Rift Wardens are not dramatic about what they do. They have seen too much of what dramatic gets you.
Gatebound who enter rift-adjacent regions encounter the Wardens early. The Wardens want to know: can this new arrival be regulated, recruited to the warden mission, or does it need to be removed from the unstable zone before it makes things worse.
